About us

Asset Sense are an independent ITAM consultancy based in Australia that focuses solely on ServiceNow ITAM solution definition, implementations, and SAM managed services. The company was founded in 2022 by former ServiceNow employee Mike Whalley.

Using a best practice ITAM implementation, CMDB optimization and a managed SAM services framework developed and enhanced in the seven years since ServiceNow launched SAM Pro, Asset Sense is the only consultancy in ANZ that can offer a one-stop shop for all SAM services on the ServiceNow platform.

Asset Sense specializes in delivering implementations services and consultancy for customers that want to migrate from their Snow and Flexera point tools to ServiceNow SAM. This is because Asset Sense consultants have deep knowledge of Snow and Flexera systems and how to address the complexities of moving from these legacy point tools.

Deep ILMT/IBM expertise that enables an easy transition of IBM license management into ServiceNow as a single pane of glass for all IBM license positions (PVU and non-PVU).

Mike Whalley

 

  • Mike is a Business Process expert with passion for Hardware, Software Asset & Configuration Management. Mike has over 25 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing asset, procurement and configuration management environments. With an emphasis on optimisation, Mike is adept at re-aligning existing ITAM business process with best practice frameworks based on the SAM/HAM/cloud asset lifecycle and a healthy CMDB which underpins  ITAM lifecycle processes.


  • Mike's extensive IT Asset Management experience consists of hardware/software asset management consultancy, process ownership and service leadership. During this time, Mike has designed hardware and software asset management business capabilities for may customers in the US, Europe and APJ, led a global ITAM practice and attained a US patent for enterprise asset management process designs.


  • Mike is widely recognised across ServiceNow and the ITAM business domains in Australia as a thought leader and subject matter expert in the implementation of the ServiceNow SAM module and running ITAM managed services (ITAMaas) on the ServiceNow platform, based on experiences and knowledge gathered since the product was launched in July 2017.
